Yes, and YOU, Lizzy!

Nice of TIME to not have to put someone like Iran's Mr. Unpronounceable on the cover, or someone like Dumsfeld, or Dumbya, or Phony Blair, or Muktada Al-Sadr, or ????

It's about time that I got recognized by TIME Magazine! 8-)>

I agree with Snave, especially you Lizzy, I saw that Time did this this morning on Meet the Press and I must say I was surprised, they picked something relavent instead of something expected. Lefty bloggers unite!

Good for us. We're a good community. And I'd like to think we (and millions of others like us)contributed to the great victories in November.

I say Howard Dean! He's been underated as far as the 06' midterm election went!

Not sure what TIME is doing here.

My guess is they could not risk putting Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Bolton, Ahmadinejad, etc without fear of immediate public outrage.

I think it's fair to say that the American Public have had with the wingnuts. And that puts even a so called "liberal elite" magazine in danger if they get caught pandering to the right.

On a softer note, perhaps TIME is right.

Perhaps now that people can chose the news they will read, watch (TiVo, Internet) and immediately voice their opinion about it (blogging, websites, email, online forums, chats, online polls) gives people far greater influence than we have enjoyed in a long time.

No longer can the elite media sit back and cram this bullshit down our throats and expect us to just lie there and take it without lube.

They're going to get some blow back now and they know it.

You know I was feeling a tad negative about them copping out this year, you know the idea has grown on me. Damn skippy you should have been on the cover.

Guess Time did'nt have the cajones to put Ahmadinejad on front, mind you do we really need to see that tards mug.

Thanks, guys.

Like Damien, at first I thought Time's decision was a cop-out, but the more I thought about it, the more it made sense.

I thought they were going to choose Ahmadinejad, too, but when was the last time they chose a bad guy (other than Bush?) I think they might be getting a little soft.

My pick? Howard Dean or Rahm Emanuel.

Lizzy,

You had a very different take on it than I did - but maybe that's because in one way or another I've been doing this online thing for thirty years now .

I think it should have been given to the voters for this last election.

Congrats to all of us. Maybe it was just a copout on Time's part, but they have a good point.

We've had an impact and I'm glad this is being recognized. Now if we can just preserve Net Neutrality...

The more I think about it, the more I agree with Damien. While I enjoy the honor, I do agree that TIME probably just didn't want to have to put someone like Ahmedinejad on the cover, or maybe someone like Muktada Al-Sadr, Dubya or Rumsfeld. But heck, I'll take whatever accolades I can get.

I also like 1138's idea about giving the honor to the voters in this year's election, for giving our country a good start in the right direction toward redemption!

I like that idea, too. However, if you think about it, Time's cover could imply that.
