I didn't know the show started back tonight, Thanks!
I will be watching... I have the video of Bill O'Reily and Bill Maher, if you haven't seen it yet.
Good show, as usual. I love Tim Robbins' passion. I posted a piece today on Bill's interview with the reporter.
It was a good show..Not sure about that NPR person. Ofcourse the author Cheney was a hack war shill as expected. Robbins was awesome.
Lizzy, with respect to the corporate coup vid you commented on, I did a follow up post you might find interesting titled War Is A Racket which is the title of a book by Major General Smedley Butler written in 1935.
Here is a sample of his work:
Beautiful ideals were painted for our boys who were sent out to die. This was the "war to end all wars." This was the "war to make the world safe for democracy." No one mentioned to them, as they marched away, that their going and their dying would mean huge war profits. No one told these American soldiers that they might be shot down by bullets made by their own brothers here. No one told them that the ships on which they were going to cross might be torpedoed by submarines built with United States patents. They were just told it was to be a "glorious adventure."
For the first show of the season, I thought it was slightly lame, except for Tim Robbins and New Rules.
That Butler piece is amazing, Poli. It should be required reading for every soldier. They were snowed back then, and they are definitely being snowed now.
Hi Lizzy. I don't have cable, so I can't comment on this, but I wanted to say since I haven't been very good at keeping up lately and am, in fact, dropping in. Many Hugs, Sheryl
Sheryl, Check YouTube for Maher's show!
Thanks for stopping by. I'll do the same.
