I'm about to say "uncle" on our whole political system. Today's commutation of the Libby verdict only furthered that feeling.
The only bright spots are Obama's second quarter fundraising record, and Keith Olbermann's special comment tomorrow on Countdown. He is going to ask Bush & Cheney to resign.

No, don't say Uncle. We just need to keep cranking up the heat. There's still hope (isn't there?).
Who Hijacked Our Country
There IS still hope.
I'm betting that the administration has a body bag ready somewhere, toe-tag and all, for Keith Olbermann. I'm sure they also have ones ready for Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Sean Penn and many others, at least figuratively if not literally.
They want us to just stop complaining and to lie down and roll over, and to get us to do that, they are basically telling us they don't care what they think, and that there is nothing we can do about it. It may seem grim, but we have to keep fighting the powers that be. People don't realize what is happening here, and if they still it "can't happen here", it's already happening. The way we can tell it's already happening is by the lack of outrage.
We need to be outraged, and we need to let people know how we feel. If we do otherwise, the terrorists in our own White House will win!
Of course that should have said "they don't care what WE think" in that last comment! 8-)>
Lizzy, we're 16 months away from getting our government back. Now is the time when we need to be strong and positive.
Gotta keep striking while the iron is hot.
Can't quit now. There are cracks in the Bush pinata. We have to keep beating it to break it open so all the corruption will fall out.
This may have very well been the straw that breaks the camel's back.
Now more than ever, we need to fight back against the right wing talkiing points:
"Clinton did it too!" - so what, two wrongs don't make it right
"Valerie Plame was a desk jockey" - Not true, she was undercover working on nuclear arms profileration in the Middle East
I don't know, guys. Every time I think it can't get any worse, it does.
I haven't lost all hope yet, but I'm getting there.
Where is that one voice that can cut through this madness and yell, "enough," and then actually do something about it?
Yes, you could say that the lefty blogesphere has been doing that for years, but are our elected officials listening? Maybe only a select few.
The system is broken.
Lizzy- I don't get why you're so despondent. It's very possible the Dems will retain majorities in the House and Senate and take back the presidency. I don't know what else we can ask for...
The reason I am so despondent is because I believe this administration has done irreparable harm to our country.
If we can elect a good Democrat to try to put the pieces back together, that's one thing, but if it's a Republican-lite, I wouldn't count on it.
I saw SiCKO last night. Remember, in the 90's, when Hillary tried to get us universal health care? Those days are over. Check this out:
Taking the Temperature of the Presidential Candidates
We already know that most Bush followers are stuck on stupid, so to see or hear Clinton name after Bush has done dirt is not a shock.
Just remember to do what we must to keep these type of people out of office in the future.
Let's all vote America and put a stop to this kind of madness.
