Red Lake tragedy

The tragedy on the Red Lake Reservation happened here in my home state, so I've been trying to think of something profound to say about it, but I can't come up with anything. I could go into a rant about guns or the like, but it doesn't fit here.

The kid's friends should have said something when Weise was making threats, but they didn't. Hindsight is always 20/20.

In the end, it comes down to a horrible tragedy perpetrated by a troubled, stupid kid.

Predictably, it fell down the list of priority stories in the news - which I think has to do with it being about Native Americans. If it were in a nice suburb again, there would be hour-long news shows on it every night this week.

I hope that community can heal.

Kind of thought it would not lead State Side, but it's still leading in most overseas media both print and TV. God what can you say?

That's terrible, Moto, but you are right. If the shooting had happened in our towns, it would still be the lead story out there. Fortunately, it is still the lead story here. They are devoting the first 10-15 minutes of the evening news to it.
