Many years ago, I was diagnosed with OCD after a lifetime of odd behavior. Politically, I consider myself a far/hard left liberal who will fight against the right wing to my dying day. When J.Marquis and friend David were visiting me in October, we went in to check out the local Democratic headquarters and I got a blue t-shirt with red and white lettering/logos that says "Union County Democrat". I like to wear that around town from time to time, but my favorite might be the plain cream-colored t-shirt that prominently features the infamous Bush quote "There ought to be limits to freedom."
Well, I guess it would be an infamous quote if the media and the public paid attention to such things... but that quote causes a lot of furrowed brows, occasionally some consternation, befuddlement, non-belief, and plain old laughter when I wear it around town.
I just figure we should wear such t-shirts and put such bumper stickers on our cars while it is still legal to do so!
I write three or four letters to the editor of our local newspaper each year, usually in response to some hillbilly right-wing kookball.
My Subaru Forester isn't quite as covered with stuff as my old Corolla used to be, but it does have window decals of a punk, Darth Vader, Stewie from Family Guy and Itchy and Scratchy from The Simpsons, AND OPB (Oregon Public Broadcasting) along with bumper stickers that read "Dissent is Patriotic", a U.S. flag, "I don't have to like Bush to love America" and "Republicans for Voldemort". Once when I visited J. he told me car was starting to look like a newspaper... which caused my ego to swell with pride!
My voicing of leftist opinion here in my town probably causes anyone who notices to view me as a sort of community "black sheep", or like a "weird uncle" or a "character" or something. Oh well. So many around here wear their political opinions or their religions beliefs on their sleeves... I may as well join the fun and wear my political opinions and non-beliefs on mine.
Also... thanks a lot for the Spiderman link. I guess now that I have watched it I am offically GAY, along with my already being a leftist commie socialist pinko environmentalist amoral atheist Christian-persecuting terrorist whacko animal-rights-activist PETA ACLU kind of guy.

I recently took off my "The Road to Hell is Paved With Republicans" and "Born OK the First Time" bumper stickers, and replaced them with a simple "Support Our Troops, Impeach Bush" sticker.

When the war started I was in San Francisco, and they had these amazing protests, and lots of vendors selling anti-Bush items.
What I bought was a black t-shirt that has Bush with duct tape over his mouth, and it says: "The perfect use for duct tape....For Homeland Security."
I like to wear that in public. And the funny thing is that despite the fact that my countt supposed went Republican (electronic--no paper trail), I have received at least 20 compliments on the t-shirt and only one negative comment. And the person disagreeing only said, "I really disagree with your t-shirt." But I live in Texas, which is supposed to be Bush territory!!!
This election was a fraud, and we're all just letting it slide by. But then so was 2000. :(
