My call to the Speaker of the House

In a 60 minutes interview before the election, Nancy Pelosi made a pledge that if the Dems take control of Congress, they would not bring impeachment procedures against the President.

I know I'm not alone when I say this, but that blows.

I called Speaker Pelosi's office last Friday to leave a comment and was pleasantly surprised to find that I was able to talk to a real person, and not a message service. I stayed calm & professional and told the staffer that Ms. Pelosi needs to reconsider her position, especially now that Bush wants to send over 2100 more of our men & women into slaughter.

At the end of my comment, I asked her if other people had called and said the same thing. Her response was a definitive, "Yes."

If you'd like to call (or write), here's the info:

Office of the Speaker
H-232, US Capitol
Washington, DC 20515
(202) 225-0100

Good work!!

I sent her an e-mail last week, but I don't know if it would be likely to reach her or not considering that I am not one of her constituents... I got some funky response that said I needed to do something else besides an e-mail... so thanks for that information! I will give her office a call!!

Thanks, Snave. Yes, please call. I think phone calls and real letters get more attention.

Poli, Hopefully Pelosi will appreciate the sticker as much as I do mine. : )

Thanks for the inspiration, Lizzy. I'm gonna send her a real old-fashioned letter.
