A meme rebellion

According to Larry of Let's Talk, schmoozing is the natural ability “to converse casually, especially in order to gain an advantage or make a social connection.” Good schmoozers effortlessly weave their way in and out of the blogosphere, leaving friendly trails and smiles, happily making new friends along the way. They don’t limit their visits to only the rich and successful, but spend some time to say hello to new blogs as well.

Here are my 5 recipients of the Power of Schmooze Award:

Everyone on my blogroll, and their blogrolls.

Yep, I'm wimping out on this meme. While I do appreciate being a recipient of the Schmooze award, I have decided to put an end to this meme madness.

I'm not tagging anyone! So there!

I made a deliberate effort to stop schmoozing.

Fred the Cat and I got our meme/tag shots, so we are immune to them. We'll tell you where you can get your shot, if you like :)

that'd make two negative ticks on the old schmooze factor now wouldn't it LT? ;)

I've back way off on traveling about the blogosphere in the last year... there's barely enough time to read the blogs of the people I admire without casting about for new opinions and faces.
Maybe I'll get "locked in" but I doubt it, because even without the traveling new faces and opinions apear from time to time in the blogs of my friends, and in mine.

As for the meme thing, there really isn't much of value you can learn from a list, the real value comes from ideas, and the discussions.

Who cares if I used to make tamales at Christmas with the neighbors?
Who cares that I want and demand that this damned war stop and the criminals that started it go to prison?
Big difference.

Congratulations for putting your foot down and stopping this nonsense. Other people's responses are as interesting to me as mine probably are to them.

LT, I hope you're not mad at me. I really did appreciate getting the award from you.

Frederick, Me, too

PoP, I really don't mind the memes that much...so no shots are needed!

1138, I actually do find some of the memes interesting, but like you, I haven't been traveling around the blogesphere lately.

Lew, Oh come on...you had to like my Pepsi Cola response on the last one. ; )

With all that being said, let's all put a (temporary?) stop to these memes.
