John Lennon
October 09, 1940 - December 08, 1980
Imagine
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for
and No religion too,
Imagine all the people living life in peace
Imagine no possesions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world
You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us, and the world will live as one
You're not the only one, John. The dream is still alive in many of us.

Thanks for posting those lyrics, Lizzy. In my opinion it's one of the most meaningful songs around.
I agree.
Well NZ just past the Civil Union Bill [basically gay marridge without the church], and we are now pushing to export a nuclear free southern hemisphere concept.
Plus we just went smoke free last night (no smoking in bars or work places, bummer if your a smoker - good if you don't want second hand lung cancer)
Hey some of Johns lyrics rubbed off on a few politicos this side of the world, "hoorah".
Thanks for reminding us that he lived, and that he still lives in many ways.
You're welcome. I was happy to post those lyrics.
Damien, You are very lucky to be living in such a progressive country. VERY lucky.
