There will be blood

"As far as I know"

I woke up with a sick feeling today, and this time it was not because of my stomach problems.

Hillary won Texas & Ohio, and her campaign will go on.

In the past, I have said that I would support her if she becomes the nominee, but at this point, I have to take that back.

I can almost understand her fear mongering ads, but I cannot forgive the answer she gave to Steve Croft during her 60 minutes interview when she was asked about Obama's religious affiliation. (Watch clip.)

The pundits are right. The longer the race between Obama and Clinton goes on, the more it will tear our party apart.

For the myself, and the people I know, the bloodletting has already begun.

Senator Clinton has shown that she will do whatever it takes to win the nomination, and the success of her recent Rovian innuendo and attacks against Obama means they will only continue. She is supposed to be about change, but to me it seems like the same old politics of yore, and I'm with you-if she is the party's nominee, Nader's looking real good.

Sure, he won't win, but I will not have participated in the demonic politics of the lowest common denominator.

I'm appalled at the way the Clintons are campaigning. Yet, if she turns out to be the nominee, I will vote for her rather than risk handing McCain the presidency.

(Hey Lizzy, I'm glad you got a tentative diagnosis from the doc - hope all goes well for you and that you get the relief you need, GF.)

All I can say is that this a huge mess, and I'm having trouble dealing with it. I may have to take Poli's advice from a few days ago and take a week off from politics. The sheer fact that I would consider voting for Nader is a sign that I need to take a step back. (Or does it mean that I'm coming to my senses?)

Thanks for caring about my belly, Candace. : )

Sigh

I'm actually sad that you have come to see things the way I do.
This is the way I saw it earlier when I was trying to rationalize a McCain win, and honestly I think I have, because as a Democrat and an American Hillary Clinton is probably worse than McCain.

Everyone calm down and look at it calmly - when McCain acts as he does, he does so as a Republican but when Hillary and her people demand that Obama fire people for using the word "monster" - that's a Democrat doing it.

I'd rather have the Republican.

Shades of John Kerry...

Obama needs to fight back. He doesn't have to fight dirty. He can land clean, solid hits and knock her out.

The whole Canda-Nafta thing needs to be expose. Olbermann reported that it was Clinton's campaign that rushed to Canada to assure them that her rhetoric was meaningless.

The Clinton Campaign bold-faced lied and it likely cost Obama the Ohio election. He needs to hit her on that.

This trend Hillary has for endorsing John McCain, she needs to be called out on that as well.

Just what was her experience in the White House? Was she actively making policy decisions? She needs to be called out on that.

Obama can't stay silent. It is his to lose at this point.

Hillary is playing for 2012, hopinng for a McCain presidency so she can run again in 2012.

By the by, ,Mark Penn is the boss of lobbyist Mr. Black who is on McCain's campaign. Mr. Black represents United Technology Corp which is moving to buyout Diebold.

"
Mark Penn is the C.E.O. of Burston-Marsteller, a consulting firm whose clients include Blackwater, Microsoft and General Motors. In a must-read article for The Nation from last summer, Ari Berman described in detail the more controversial aspects of Penn’s firm – including its union-busting work on behalf of corporations.

Naturally, Burston-Marsteller also has a lucrative lobbying division in Washington DC for its corporate clients – run by Charlie Black, a Republican political consultant who is also John McCain’s chief political adviser and campaign spokesman."

1138, I agree. It is sad that I've come to see things the same way you do...but I wouldn't go as far to say that I'd rather have the Republican (like you did.) There is no way in hell that I would ever vote for McCain.

Poli, Yep. Obama needs to fight back and he needs to fight back hard. He doesn't have to go negative either -- he only needs to speak the truth. I'm hoping that as we speak they are putting together TV ads to take on the shit the Clinton campaign is doing. He also needs to hammer away on the Clintons for not releasing their tax information, as well as the Mark Penn stuff. I don't think the voters of Pennsylvania will take kindly to those facts.

And, lest we not forget the Saudis, indeed.

Good Golly Miss Molly! Yes Molly was right about Hillary. 1138 wrote a post on this very well and Poli has a post on Clinton dirty tricks as well.

I have no dog in this fight, but Hillary has really started to show that she will say and do anything to win this nomination.

I've had a question about Hillary Clinton's campaign for a while: With all the Swiftboating her and her proxies have been doing since she realized she had competition instead of a coronation, has she hired Karl Rove as her campaign manager? If not, she's been drawing extensively from his play book.

LT & MC, Yep, Hillary will stoop to anything to win, and our party is supposed to be better than that.

Obama won Wyoming today, and he's sure to win Mississippi next. With these wins and the ads I'm hoping he's working on, let's hope he turns this thing around in Pennsylvania.
