Simpsons Censored

Not surprising, considering it's a FOX show.

I'm surprised they let air what they did let air.

I think the Alien holding the actual hearts and minds sums it up well.

On the other hand, this season "24" featured a vice president who was wrong about everything and constantly wanted to attack an innocent country. So they must have a few reasonable folks in the company...

PoliShifter, Yeah, when I saw what they did broadcast, my jaw dropped, however they have snuck in good political commentary before. They have great writers.

J, That is very good to hear. I was under the impression that "24"
was pure right-wing propaganda.

No, actually I would say it's surprisingly even-handed. The only criticism I have is that the hero has gotten a little too eager about torturing bad guys for information...

Given the overall effect of the satire, I wouldn't be surprised if the cut were more creatively motivated than political. I think it actually works better without the overt mention of Iraq.

And without being too much of a right-wing apologist, I agree that 24 did a good job of presenting the civil liberties/national security debate. Much more 'balanced' than reality.
