Strange sense of calm

I'll find out Monday afternoon if I have breast cancer. I broke up with my fiance of 5 years. My basement is still a disaster area. My dog is having knee surgery this Wednesday.

I should be having a nervous breakdown, but I feel strangely calm. I don't know where it's coming from, but I have a sense that everything is going to be ok.

I think my late mother is watching out for me.

I think she is, too, and I think your sense of calmness also shows your strength in the face of some challenges.

Liz,
I love you more than words could ever begin to express. You and the kids are my whole world. I have been a complete selfish asshole, and I will do anything I can to make this whole mess right by you. Even if means going in front of the whole world and spilling my guts. I am truly sorry for everything.
Love, Tom

Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Freda, Mom, Dad and the rest are watching over us for sure. Everything will be fine, I am sure!
We Love You!
