"Good Morning Starshine" by Oliver is ok in my book. I used to sing it to one of my dogs. And, when "Afternoon Delight" came out, I hated it, too. But now I have a slight fondness for it. However, I completely agree with you on John Mayer - yuk.

My favorites of YOUR lists:

J. Marquis:
Soul Asylum - Runaway Train
Earth, Wind & Fire - That's the Way of the World
Raspberries - Go All the Way
Rush - Tom Sawyer

Snave:
Paul McCartney - Maybe I'm Amazed
The Sex Pistols - Holiday In The Sun
Richard Harris - McArthur Park
Boz Scaggs - Lowdown

Damien:
The Rolling Stones - Wild Horses
AC/DC - Highway to Hell
Radiohead (anything from ‘The Bends’)

Sheryl:
Roberta Flack - Killing Me Softly

Tommy64 (fiance):
The Beatles - Revolution
The Replacements - Stuck in the Middle

(And, thanks for #2 on your list. I take that as a complement. As far as you not having any friends, what am I, chopped liver?!)

Ms. Liberty:
I agree with you on REM, Pink Floyd, The Doors, U2, and of course, The Beatles, but as far as Hole goes, I hope Ms. Love would drop dead already.

Thanks again, everyone!Lizzyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09221976140171029175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7653541.post-1107400490940786672005-02-02T21:14:00.000-06:002005-02-02T21:14:00.000-06:00How could I forget to mention "The Ballad of Accou...How could I forget to mention "The Ballad of Accounting" and "The Long Haired Radical Socialist Jew?" I got a CD burner for Christmas, so I wouldn't have a zillion large files on my computer.

2. The last CD you bought was:Buy music? I thought the beauty of the internet was that we all make it and share it with one another. Geez, it's been ages since I actually bought any music. It might have the Napoleon Boulevard CD I ordered from Hungary. That's kind of scary to think though.

3. What is the song you last listened to before reading this message?Beyond burning my own song, so I could hand out copies in Washington DC, it was probably that Haifa Wehbe song "Aqoul Ahwak."4. Write down 5 songs you often listen to or that mean a lot to you.1. "Pop Goes the World"--Cause my ex and I agreed that would be "our song."
2. "Both Sides Now"--Cause life is indeed complicated the way the song describes.
3. "Killing Me Softly With His Song"--Cause people crave to be understood and connect with others on their wavelength.
4. "At Home With the Exiles"--Cause it's about being a citizen of the world.
5. "The Pied Piper of Crawford"--Cause I always dreamed of producing a song and its my baby.

There are tons of others (maybe some I love better), but those come to mind as special for me and make me cry sometimes.

5. Who are you going to stick this with? (3 persons) and why? I'll post the URL on my blog. Whereas surveys like this are great fun, I would rather not pressure people to take them.

Thanks for thinking of me, Snave. A few Bob Marley bits. Oh and a sample of a French Foreign Legion dinner song I wanted to stream to my blog.

2. The last CD I bought,

Well, a long long time ago….
in a music store far far away …

I’m pretty sure it was one of the ‘Gate Crasher’ dance house CDs, nigh on three years ago.

3. The last CD I listed to before reading this message was,

A ripped version of Kill Bill Vol. 1, it’s in my shower rotation.

4. Five songs that I often listen to,

I’ll list the stuff that I ‘amp up to’ during pre-flight (I’m currently regaining currency on my NZ Helicopter licenses)

The Rolling Stones ‘Wild Horses’
Kid Rock ‘I’m a Cowboy baby’, ‘Fists of rage’
AC/DC ‘All night long’ or virtually anything with a good lead in “Highway to hell’ included.
Anything by the Pixies
Guns’n’Roses ‘Paradise City’
Radio Head (anything from ‘The Bends’)

And my potential funeral list, provided I die young in some form of senseless ad-hoc gun battle,

Wild Horses (The Stones), Spanish Angels (Ray and Willie), err something
that the guitar players can make something of (and there will be guitar players, there always are). Anything by and performed by the Pixies.

Three others that I will send this to,

A former safe breaking, Frisbee throwing champ who I learned to fly choppers with back in NZ. “It’ll get to you sooner or later Ivy”. “Oh the perils of age, I’ll need your flight med doc soon buddy”.

And the only guy I know who would turn up to a selection day with a stress ball, and still pass the psych-evaluation. “Hey trooper answer your emails in a timely manner”!!!

And one half of the dubious duo, Katie. The i-Pod devotee, with all the bells and whistles, I really need one (an i-pod that is, not a Katie, errr not that it wouldn't be nice, arrgh I'm digging a hole).

I shall post up the list with my next block of postings, very cool.Damienhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18216696796162994082noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7653541.post-1107288228570131972005-02-01T14:03:00.000-06:002005-02-01T14:03:00.000-06:00Yay, Lizzy!
