I would certainly never stoop to the lows she does as a matter of course, and because I actually have ethics, that, above all else, separates me from Ms. McKinney.

My underlying political philosophy is something akin to, but not quite, "Let it burn," although I recognize and accept the necessity of some limited government. Hers is, "Let's do what gives me the most power and panders to my constituency." Said constituency is dwindling in number, a fact for which we should all be grateful. I have no designs to be a king. I don't want it, wouldn't accept it if it were offered, and have no use for one. She is a shrill bantam fowl who would be queen, whose antics are more akin to the laughable aggression of the bantam roosters than the gentleness of the bantam hens.

The one thing we share in common is that we are true to ourselves. I am exactly who I am, and she is exactly who she is, and it is her being herself that, rightfully, cost her a seat she had been defiling in the United States House of Representatives.Mandelbrot's Chaoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16707481552099334302noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7653541.post-10112806387858345772007-09-04T22:14:00.000-05:002007-09-04T22:14:00.000-05:00Cindy McKinney's no more of a nut job than you are...Cindy McKinney's no more of a nut job than you are MC.
The main difference between the two of you isn't intelligence, or being right or wrong - the main difference is that she had a national platform a tweaked powerful noses, not little internet ones.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7653541.post-33333423230232021332007-09-01T20:59:00.000-05:002007-09-01T20:59:00.000-05:00This doesn't surprise me. She's a wing-nut who has publicly praised one dictator (Fidel Castro) and one man who clearly has dictatorial designs (Hugo Chavez), and she slapped a Capitol Police officer for doing his job and used racist rhetoric in her defense and in other instances. This is not "Republican slander." This is public record, and as such, I give her the same credibility I give other racists: None. I don't despise Ms. McKinney for any "Republican talking points." I despise her for her own words.

My comments about Cindy Sheehan stand. I do have a great deal of sympathy for her, and I also agree that Bush and Cheney need to be impeached for the good of the nation. I also think there are probably a whole slate of others from both major parties who deserve the same, but again, Bush and Cheney are the greatest extant threats at this point.

Lizzy, again I agree with Candace that if they have "massive evidence", they should produce it and submit it to the public for further review and so that something useful like an impeachment hearing can occur. Otherwise, they look a bit like Senator Joe McCarthy when he was talking about communists. It isn't so much a matter of how little I or anyone trust Bush and his cronies, for he has well and truly lost the trust of an overwhelming majority of the United States electorate, myself included; it's a matter of critical thinking and forming an opinion based on evidence instead of conjecture.Mandelbrot's Chaoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16707481552099334302noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7653541.post-27326399676071407992007-08-31T10:50:00.000-05:002007-08-31T10:50:00.000-05:00Good comments, everyone, but I'm with Poli, Undeni...Good comments, everyone, but I'm with Poli, Undeniable Liberal, and Snave on this one. We fell for the slander and pressure the Republicans put on her and about her. Yes, she even helped as well, but the accusations she made about Bush turned out more true than not.

Cindy Sheehan goes overboard but it seems that she has saw through Bush and is one of the people who seems to be out their pushing his impeachment.

Has anyone ever notice, any person speaking ill of Bush and his Administration has been slandered and most of what they have been slandered with are now playing in the Democrats mouth. I ...Well, I certainly do NOT admire Cindy Sheehan. I have a great deal of sympathy for her, for what she has lost, and for the way she has allowed others to use her. I know as well as anyone and better than some what kind of psychological toll the loss of a close loved one can do to a person, and for that, she has my deepest sympathy. She is right about the Iraq War, but she has become such a shrill voice against it that she has long since lost the credibility she once had, and this letter, without citing evidence as you said, Candace, is merely further proof of that.Mandelbrot's Chaoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16707481552099334302noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7653541.post-83684334374527782952007-08-30T01:12:00.000-05:002007-08-30T01:12:00.000-05:00I sure wish someone would step up the pressure on ...I sure wish someone would step up the pressure on Cheney. Frankly, politicians behaving in an opportunistic manner is about as surprising as finding sand at a beach. The main differences between the Bush Administration and his predecessors, as well as the majority of the members Congress, are the utter lack of finesse and his predictability.

The most glaring problem I see with that letter is that, frankly, it gives Bush far more credit than he has proven he deserves. How many times have the stock markets behaved strangely without a terror attack occurring? Frankly, the only "false flag" I see in this instance is the letter itself.
